Klingende Würdigung eines britischen Klassikers: William Walton

Jahrhundertelang jubelte man in England hauptsächlich Komponisten anderer Länder zu: Händel, Haydn, Dvorák. Erst gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts fand die britische Insel zu einem ganz eigenen Stil – und einer der prominentesten englischen Vertreter zwischen Romantik und Moderne war William Walton.
