To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. On their respective instrument, Joakim Svenheden and Mats Bergström are among Sweden's most respected musicians. When they make music together they are Duo a piacere - for and with pleasure!

For this Hybrid SACD the two of them have chosen a programme that suits their name: music which gives pleasure to the performers and listener alike, in sensitive arrangements by Mats Bergström himself. (Mats Bergström's gifts as an arranger - and indeed performer! - will be obvious to anyone who is acquainted with BIS-NL-CD-5020, My Love, his collaboration with mezzo-soprano Malena Ernman.) Ranging from Handel to Sibelius, the pieces are unfailingly beguiling and given performances to match! Finally, on the last tracks on the CD, the duo pays homage to another great violin / guitar team: the Danish duo Svend Asmussen and Ulrik Neumann, using the two Danes's recordings of three American standards as a point of departure for their own interpretations. In short: this disc is a rare pleasure!
