Der Rhythmus des Lebens
»Diese Tänze sind voll jugendlicher Energie«, sagt Gustavo Dudamel. »Frühling bedeutet Neuanfang, das ist etwas sehr Wichtiges für junge Menschen. Ich kenne Le Sacre seit meinem ersten Konzert als dreizehnjähriger Geiger im Orchester meiner Heimatstadt. Jetzt ist es auch ein wichtiges Stück für das SBYOV. Wir spielten es erstmals 2009 in London, Madrid, Lissabon und natürlich mehrmals in Venezuela. Das Orchester hat diese Rhythmen einfach im Blut – eine Passage klingt bei diesen Musikern sogar wie Heavy Metal.«

Kraftvolle Tanzrhythmen prägen auch Revueltas' Musik für einen Film von 1939, der den Kulturschock schildert, als ein Stamm der Mayas auf die moderne Welt trifft. Wie Strawinskys großes Ballett ist die symphonische Suite La noche de los Mayas ausdrucksstarke Musik, und sie endet mit einem entfesselten Opfertanz, für den der Komponist elf Schlagzeuger vorgesehen hat. »Es ist die ideale Kopplung für Le Sacre«, erklärt Gustavo Dudamel. Diese explosive, geheimnisvoll atmosphärische Zusammenstellung ist auch das ideale Programm für diesen Dirigenten und diese jungen Musiker voll unvergleichlicher Dynamik.
