Biografie
Eric J. Hobsbawm (1917 - 2012) begann 1947 seine Lehrtätigkeit an der Universität London; zugleich übernahm er Professuren für Geschichte an der Stanford University, dem Massachusetts Institute of Technologoy, der Cornell University, der Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales und am Collège de France. Ab 1984 lehrte er an der New School for Social Research in New York.
