Actress and recording artist Katherine McPhee returns with a brand new album, Hysteria featuring the hit single ›Lick My Lips‹.
On Hysteria, McPhee has challenged herself as a songwriter, co-writing all of the songs on the album, transitioning from someone who just loved to sing to someone who also creates; now she's finally immersed herself in every creative element, from the conception of the song, the melody, and lyrics to being in the room and collaborating with notable writers / producers such as Isabella ›Machine‹ Summers (Florence & The Machine; ›Dog Days Are Over‹, Iggy Azalea ›Trouble‹, Beyonce ›Countdown‹) who co-wrote and produced 5 of the songs and Ryan Tedder (One Republic, Beyonce – ›Halo‹, Leona Lewis, ›Bleeding Love‹) who co-wrote one of the tracks. McPhee burst onto the scene in 2005 on Season 5 of American Idol Where she was the runner up.
McPhee's self-titled debut album landed at No. 2 on the Billboard chart in 2007. It was also the best chart debut for a female artist in two years. Her first single, ›Over The Rainbow / My Destiny‹ debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Singles Sales chart. The album went gold in 2008, and in 2009 she garnered a young Hollywood Award for Best Female Vocalist.
