Die Prog-Metal-Legende FATES WARNING veröffentlicht ein erweitertes CD/DVD-Set ihres gefeierten Albums »A Pleasant Shade of Gray«. »A Pleasant Shade of Gray« ist ein einziger, in zwölf Parts unterteilter Song. Das Album tut sich durch seine finsterere Stimmung sowie eine Mischung aus Progressive Rock und Metal mit Industrial-, Klassik und Psych-Elementen hervor.
Diese umfassende, erweiterte Sammlung enthält das eigentliche Album auf der ersten CD. Die zweite bietet eine Live-Version, mitgeschnitten während ihrer Europatournee 1998, sowie eine Soundcheck-Aufnahme von »We Only Say Goodbye« und ein Studio-Cover des Scorpions-Songs »In Trance«. Die dritte CD besteht aus Demos aus der Vorproduktion und den Songwriting-Sessions zu »A Pleasant Shade of Gray«. Der DVD-Teil schließlich zeigt zwei Konzerte zu »A Pleasant Shade Of Gray«. Beim ersten handelt es sich um eine restaurierte, neu geschnittene Fassung des 1998er-VHS-Videos, beim zweiten um eine Show im The Whisky in Hollywood von 1999.
