CANNABIS CORPSE wurde von MUNICIPAL WASTE Bassist »LandPhil« Hall (Bass/Gesang) und seinem Bruder Josh »Hallhammer« Hall (Schlagzeug) aus gemeinsamer Liebe zu brutalem Florida-Death Metal und - wen überrascht es - Marihuana gegründet.
Die frühesten Aufnahmen der Band (»Blunted At Birth« von 2006 und »Tube Of the Resinated« von 2008) sind deutliche Hommagen an ihre Einflüsse - unerbittliche Presslufthammer-Beats und kranker, gutturaler Gesang legen den Grundstein für komplett verrückte und verdrehte Geschichten über Hasch.
