Daron Malakian und John Dolmayan, Mitglieder der Band System Of A Down, haben ein neues Projekt: Scars On Broadway. Sie präsentieren mit ihrem gleichnamigen Debütalbum durchaus aggressive und druckvolle Songs, insbesondere mit »Serious« und dem treffend betitelten »Exploding / Reloading«, doch es gibt zum Beispiel auch Tracks wie »Whoring streets«, in dem sie Hardrock- und Blues-Elemente vereinen. Noch bezeichnender für die eher melodische und weniger harte Ausrichtung sind jedoch Stücke wie »Funny«, eine astreine Pop / Rock-Nummer, das unfassbar eingängige »World long gone« und natürlich »They say«, die erste Singleauskopplung.
