Following a grueling European tour with the Oblivians and a ragged lope thru the USA after the release of their first album (We Told You Not To Cross Us) the REVELATORS booked some studio time in Austin, TX to record album Number Two with Mike Mariconda as producer. Shortly before the session the original drummer quit. Rather than canceling the recording dates Mariconda suggested using Bill Randt, then drummer for the New Bomb Turks. Bill agreed, came to Missouri to practice a couple days, played a show, and then they headed south. They recorded the album in two days, and then played a set at the semi-legendary Austin punk club Bates Motel. It was the last Revelators show, and one of the drunkest. Singer Jeremiah quit shortly after the band returned to Missouri, leaving Crypt with an album from a band that no longer existed. So the record, working title "LET A POOR BOY RIDE" (from the Bo Diddley opus "Please Mister Engineer"), was shelved _til Crypt had enough dough to release it...hmmm, ELEVEN YEARS LATER, and HERE IT FINAL
