Remastered.
Attention: This is not the 60s UK Knack featuring Paul Gurvitz (of later fame with Gun) and nor is it The Knack of ‘My Sharona’ fame, but an entirely different West Coast outfit from the prior decade. But they were no less extraordinary.
Formed in 1965 by Michael Chain (later of Pinkiny Canandy), The Knack performed with many legendary acts of the era on the Sunset Strip and beyond. Signed to Capitol, the band was given an ill-fated marketing campaign that allegedly touted them as "Better Than The Beatles,” but despite having been faced with that pressure, The Knack managed to release exceptional material that includes garage, psych, soft pop, and Merseybeat elements. This material has miraculously never before been compiled on CD — until now!
Included here are all 8 sides of The Knack’s original four singles, along with four previously-unreleased tracks, as well as an alternate mix of ‘I’m Aware.’ Mastered by Alan Brownstein from the original master tapes!
