Karl Denson weiß, was der Funk geschlagen hat. Zunächst trat Denson als Saxofonist bei Lenny Kravitz in Erscheinung, schwang sich dann zum Leader der Acid-Jazz Funktruppe The Grey Boy-Allstars auf, bevor er seine eigene Band Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe gründete. Produziert von Chris Goldsmith (The Five Blind Boys Of Alabama) fängt Brother’s Keeper vortrefflich den organischen Funk-Rock Sound von Denson’s Konzerten ein. Dank der Gäste MeShell Ndegeocello und Mark Ford gelingt Denson zudem ein äußerst abwechslungsreiches und unterhaltsames Album.
