F. Schöler in Stereo 5/05: "Der alte Herr, der viele Jahre erst Rhythmus- und dann Lead-Gitarre für Howlin´ Wolf spielte, ist bei diesem Allstar-Projekt phänomenal gut drauf. Wie er sich bei "Still A Fool" ein Duell mit Keith Richards liefert, zeigt, dass er mit 73 nichts ver- lernt hat. Auch eine Sternstunde der beiden: der Akustik- Blues "This Is The End", wie praktisch alles hier Live- im-Studio ohne Overdubs musiziert! Sumlin ist auch als Sänger bei den Cover-Versionen ganz groß in Form, ebenso Begleiter wie James Cotton, Levon Helm ("The Band"), Bob Margolin und auch Eric Clapton bei zwei Aufnahmen."
