Die niederländische Symphonic-Metal-Band Delain veröffentlichte 2012 ihr drittes Studioalbum »We Are the Others«. Der Titel des Albums in Erinnerung an die 20-jährige Sophie Lancaster gewählt, die im Jahr 2007 ermordet wurde, weil sie Teil der Goth-Subkultur war.
Das Album brachte zwei Singleauskopplungen hervor: »Get The Devil Out of Me« und der Titelsong, zu dem die Band ein Musikvideo drehte, in dem viele bekannte Persönlichkeiten aus der Metal-Szene zu sehen waren, darunter George Oosthoek, Sharon den Adel, Robert Westerholt und Rob van der Loo. Das Album enthält Gastbeiträge von Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) und Marko Hietala (Nightwish) und wurde von Jacob Hellner (aka Tripod) produziert, der vor allem für die Produktion der meisten Rammstein-Alben.
Die Geschichte von “We Are The Others” beginnt im Juni 2012, als DELAIN mit dem Album für gespitze Ohren sorgten – und das nicht nur in den Progressive und Symphonic Metal Szenen. Die niederländische Sympho- Pop Metalband, die vom Ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION Keyboarder Martijn Westerholt gegründet wurde, weiß einfach genau, wie ein eingängier Song auszusehen hat.
DELAIN haben die Mischung aus Heavy Metal und Popmelodien perfektioniert, was dafür sorgt, dass „We Are The Others“ purer Hörgenuss ist. Heraus sticht die Stimme von Charlotte Wessel, die sich gegen den Hintergrund aus harten und sanften Gitarren und die Synthies abhebt. Wunderschön strukturierte Sound, massive Riffs und harte Drums dienen als Fundament für die Soli von Gitarrist Timo Somers. Fans haben immer wieder nach einer Vinylversion des DELAIN Albums gefragt: Hier ist es!

Unleashed onto the world in June 2012, Delain's We Are The Others turned heads in progressive and symphonic metal scenes. The Dutch sympho-pop metal band, founded by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, knows how to craft a catchy song or two. They have perfected their blend of heavy metal and pop melodies, making We Are The Others a highly enjoyable listen. What stands out about the album is Charlotte Wessels' beautiful voice against a background of alternating heavy and lighter guitars & synth work. Beautifully layered sounds, monster riffs and heavy drums are the backdrop for spine tingling solos from guitarist Timo Somers. Fans were begging for a vinyl release of the brand-new Delain album, and Music On Vinyl complied.
