Freddy (Kick Gurry) hat einen großen Traum: Er will mit seiner Band Sydneys Rockszene erobern. Als er Australiens erfolgreichsten Bandmanager kennen lernt, glaubt sich Freddy am Ziel. Doch der Branchen-Guru lässt die Garagenrocker zappeln, denn ohne professionelles Demo-Tape läuft bei ihm gar nichts. Ausgerechnet jetzt aber ist die Band völlig pleite und ihre Mitglieder obendrein durch ein heftig rotierendes Beziehungskarussell abgelenkt: Gitarrist Joe (Brett Stiller) betrügt seine Freundin Kate (Maya Stange). Freddy ist heimlich in Kate verliebt und löst deshalb bei Bassistin Tanya (Pia Miranda), heftige Eifersuchtsattacken aus, während Drummer Lucy (Chris Sadrinna) sich höchstens auf seine Drogenkarriere konzentriert.
