About the film
Moon (Jimmy Bennett) lebt mit seinem Vater (J. D. Evermore) abseits der Zivilisation in einem großen Naturschutzgebiet. Pap hat ihm alles beigebracht, was man für ein Leben in der Natur, ohne Konsum und Kapitalismus wissen muss. Doch eines Tages muss Moon hilflos zusehen, wie sein Vater an einem Beinbruch stirbt. Seiner Wurzeln entraubt, folgt Moon Paps letztem Rat und macht sich auf den Weg nach Alaska. Doch statt in der Wildnis endet er in einer Jugendstrafanstalt. Dort bekommt er das erste Mal in seinem Leben Anschluss an Gleichaltrige und findet echte Freunde. Als ihm und ein paar anderen Jungs der Ausbruch aus der Anstalt gelingt, kommt es zu einer Hetzjagd, die fast tödlich endet ...
