Man könnte sich kaum kompetentere Interpreten vorstellen: »The Sixteen« haben den »Messias« mittlerweile mehr als 150 Mal aufgeführt. Im Laufe der Jahre sind Chor und Werk gewissermaßen zu einem Synonym geworden. In diesem Sinne ist die vorliegende Aufnahme der »Sixteen« ein würdiges Dokument für eine seit mehr als zwei Jahrzehnten sich stetig verfeinernde Aufführungs- und Interpretationsgeschichte.
