Fischer in FonoForum 3/93: »Eulen sollte man vor allem dann nicht nach Athen tragen, wenn Rom auf dem Weg liegt – es braucht nicht mehr betont zu werden, daß die Liebe von Poppea und Nero, wie sie Monteverdis reifste Oper (unter den erhaltenen) behandelt, durch Jean-Pierre Ponnelle und Nikolaus Harnoncourt kongeniale Befürworter gefunden hat. Wer diese Aufführung seinerzeit im Fern- sehen verpaßt hat, sollte mit der Anschaffung der Video-Kassette auch dann nicht zögern, wenn er mit dem Genre Barockoper sonst nichts anzufangen weiß. «- Contents
