Vladimir Jurowski war 14 Jahre lang Chefdirigent des London Philharmonic Orchestra. Von 2007 bis 2021 waren seine kreative Energie und künstlerische Strenge von zentraler Bedeutung für den Erfolg des Orchesters. Seit einer ersten Zusammenarbeit im Jahr 2002 war Strawinsky ein zentraler Bestandteil dieser fruchtbaren Verbindung, woraus 2018 eine ganzjährige Werkschau des Komponisten resultierte. Eine dreiteilige Serie beim LPO-eigenen Label beginnt mit frühen Orchesterwerken und zwei der großen Ballette für Paris: Der Feuervogel und Le Sacre du printemps – einem Feuerwerk aus Rhythmus und Farbe.
