Wildhagen in FonoForum 8/02: "Auf Anregung des Volks- musiksammlers George Thomson schrieben Komponisten wie Beethoven, Weber und Haydn geistreiche Adaptionen über- lieferter Originalmelodien aus Schottland und Wales, und gerade die Aussetzungen Haydns sind wahre Kleinodien. Seine "Welsh Air" sind hier in einer reizvollen, teil- weise authentischen Fassung mit Harfenbegleitung ganz im Sinne der bis heute gefeierten Tradition keltischer Barden dargeboten. Dessen ungeachtet klingt die hier verwendete Doppelpedalharfe von Erard einfach fantastisch, und Helena Dearing trifft genau den richtigen Ton zwischen Schlichtheit und Raffinement."
