Georg Philipp Telemann übernahm als erster deutscher Komponist Elemente der polnischen Volksmusik in seine eigenen Werke. Er beschränkte sich dabei nicht auf einfache Elemente und Tanzformen, sondern prägte den Orchester- und Ensembleklang mit slawischen Melodien und Rhythmen. Synkopierungen und häufige Tempowechsel sind dabei signifikant. Auf derartige Werke setzt das Ensemble Holland Baroque Society, das für dieses Projekt den slowakischen Geiger und All-Round-Künstler Milos Valent als Solisten und Leiter gewinnen konnte.
