Das vor mehr als 100 Jahren wiedererwachte Interesse an Vivaldi hat sich bis heute erhalten und sorgt weiterhin für die Verbreitung seiner Musik und seiner Lebensgeschichte. Während seine Konzerte verständlicherweise große Kassenerfolge sind, fordern inzwischen auch seine sakrale Musik und seine Opern eine neue Wertschätzung dieses außergewöhnlichen Venezianers. In vorliegender Einspielung wurden drei relativ unbekannte Kantaten aufgenommen, die thematisch als Trilogie konzipiert sind und die Liebesgeschichte der Elvira erzählen. Umrandet wird das Programm von drei Triosonaten des venezianischen Maestros.
