Product Information
In a fog-wreathed London, the respected Dr. Jekyll’s experiments on the dual nature of man unleash a brute that feels no moral restraint or remorse. Although excited by this freedom, Jekyll discovers that he is unable to control the power of his vicious alter ego and is faced with shameful discovery or ignominious death. Haunting and thrilling, this atmospheric fable is one of the world’s greatest short stories. It is twinned here with Markheim, an earlier tale of second selves, conscience and the struggle between good and evil.

Klappentext
"The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is the ultimate study of man's psyche and the terrifying realms of human impulse. A nineteenth-century classic, it is suspenseful storytelling at its best, and perfectly realized in this unabridged recording. Dr Jekyll's creation of a dangerous alter ego, with the intention of freeing himself from his own conscience, continues to compel readers to this day. As our narrator, Mr Utterson, seeks the truth about the mysterious Hyde, Jekyll's fervent desire to purge his soul of evil and his inability to control his counterpart comes to an unforgettable climax. Haunting and thrilling, this atmospheric fable is one of the world's greatest short stories. It is twinned here with Markheim, an earlier tale of second-selves, conscience and the struggle between good and evil."
Biografie
Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Scotland in 1850. He was the son of an engineer, and he hoped to be an engineer himself. He began training, but his poor health prevented his continuing. Partly because of his health troubles - mainly tuberculosis - he spent a large part of his life outside Britain.- Tracklisting
