The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Es gibt Musiker die behaupten von sich, das Ziel ihres Lebens sei, so Musik zu machen wie McCoy Tyner. Jemand bei dem sein Instrument ein Teil seiner selbst wird. Jemand dessen individuelle Art zu spielen an einer einzigen Note zu hören ist. Und um diese Magie dreht sich dieses Album.
Mit nur fünf Tracks, wie sie unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten, brilliert Tyner hier. Donnergrollen und blitzartige Tastenläufe auf dem Flügel sind sein Markenzeichen, aber gleichzeitig spielt er bei "Prayer for my Family" derart melodiös und zurückgezogen sein Solo, dass man tatsächlich meint sein Gebet zu hören.
Die Band besteht aus McCoy Tyner (Piano, Koto, flöte, Percussion), Sonny Fortune (Soprano- & Alto-Saxophon, Flöte), Alphonse Mouzon (Trompete, Schlagzeug, Percussion) und Calvin Hill (Bass, Percussion). Aufgenommen in den Decca Recording Studios, New York, im Januar 1972.
