Biografie

Ingrid Betancourt, geb. 1961 in Bogotá, studierte Politik in Paris. 1989 kehrte sie mit ihren Kindern nach Kolumbien zurück, wo sie von 1994 bis 1998 Abgeordnete im Repräsentantenhaus war. Sie erhielt Morddrohungen und brachte 1996 ihre Kinder ins Ausland, eine Erfahrung, die sie in ihrem ersten Buch "Die Wut in meinem Herzen" beschrieb. Als Präsidentschaftskandidatin auf Wahlkampftour, wurde sie am 23. Februar 2002 entführt und erst am 2. Juli 2008 aus der Hand der FARC-Guerilla befreit. Heute lebt sie in den USA und Frankreich.
