MOSAIC 1 is designed for college ESOL students who are at a high-intermediate level of proficiency. Courses for ESL (English as a Second Language) or ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students are taught in both 2-year and 4-year schools and may be found in a variety of departments including English, ESL and extended or continuing education as well as in language institute programmes elsewhere on campus. MOSAIC 1 is appropriate for students who score 440-450 on the TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language), 135-145 on the CELT (Comprehensive English Language Test), 50-60 on the Michigan Proficiency Test or 65-75 on the Michigan Placement Test.
