“The Smiths haben noch nie so gut geklungen” – sagt der, der das wissen muss wie kein anderer (mit Ausnahme von Morrissey natürlich). Johnny Marr, einst Gitarrist der wohl einflussreichsten britischen Band der 1980er, beaufsichtigte nämlich höchstpersönlich das Remastering des kompletten Smiths-Katalogs in den Londoner Metropolis Studios, wo Tontechniker Frank Arkwright für seine Arbeit die Originalbänder zur Verfügung hatte.

Auf „Complete“ sind nun inklusive Compilations erstmals alle acht Alben des Quartetts aus Manchester in einer schmucken Box mit neuen Liner Notes versammelt.
