Am 22. November 1981, inmitten ihrer Mammut-Tournee durch die USA, kamen die Rolling Stones in Chicago an, um dort drei Nächte hintereinander im „Rosemont Horizon“ zu spielen. Als Band, die bereits seit Langem vom Chicago Blues beeinflusst war, besuchten die Stones dabei auch Muddy Waters‘ legendären Club „The Checkerboard Lounge“, um dem berühmten Bluesmusiker beim Spielen zuzuschauen. Es dauerte nicht lange, da standen Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood und Ian Stewart selbst mit auf der Bühne, später folgten ihnen auch noch Buddy Guy und Lefty Dizz.
Ein wahrhaft einzigartiges Spektakel, das glücklicherweise von Kameras für die Nachwelt festgehalten wurde.
Nach der erfolgreichen DVD bzw. DVD+CD Veröffentlichung gibt es nun die Special Edition als Deluxe-Triple-Gatefold-Vinyl auf 180 g gepresst inklusive DVD und CD.
