In den Himmel kann man auch anders kommen, wie Scrat, das Eichhörnchen in Carlos Saldanhas Ice Age 2 -- The Meltdown, am Ende des Films eindrucksvoll beweist. Die musikalische Untermalung spielt aber erneut eine entscheidende Rolle, die in diesem Fall von John Powell gut gemeistert wird. Herrlich überdrehte Lieder, gespickt mit Musical-Referenzen oder wilden Tanzrhythmen, zwei oft variierte Hauptthemen und natürlich Powells einfallsreiche Interpretation von Aram Khatchaturians Adagio aus Spartacus, das in besagter Himmelsszene inklusive Chor zum Einsatz kommt, machen den Soundtrack trotz kleiner Schwächen zu einem gelungenen Hörerlebnis. Verspieltheit und Anspruch schließen sich eben nicht aus, daher sind Film und Musik immer dann am Besten, wenn sie diese Erkenntnis beherzigen.
