He drank to excess, limped with a rotting leg, fathered the rock 'n' roll life style and died at 36. But no one has made better rock 'n' roll music before or since.

"Bluejean Bop", das harte "Who Slapped John", "Lotta Lovin"', "Cat Man" und das lasziv-harte "Baby Blue" vermitteln die Anziehungskraft der Stücke von Vincent - hier geht es nicht um glatte, harmonische und zensierte Nummern, nein, die Musik ist Sex pur. Gene Vincent wird allzu schnell mit seinem großen Hit "Be-Bop-A-Lula" gleichgesetzt.
