Juli 2011, dem Finaltag des diesjährigen Montreux Festivals, aufgezeichnet und zeigt Deep Purple in Begleitung eines kompletten Symphonieorchesters unter der Leitung von Stephen „BK“ Bentley-Klein. Die Orchesterarrangements verleihen dem Best-Of-Programm mit Klassikern wie „Highway Star“, „Strange Kind Of Woman“, „Lazy“, „Perfect Strangers“, „Hush“, „Woman From Tokyo“, „Black Night“ und natürlich auch dem textlich eng mit Montreux verbundenen „Smoke On The Water“ eine zusätzliche Tiefe und bereiteten der Band sichtlichen Spaß, sodass diese Show zweifellos zu den besten Purple-Konzerten ihrer Karriere zählt.

Deep Purple muss man nicht mehr explizit vorstellen, ihre Karriere reicht bis in die späten Sechziger zurück und umfasst Albumverkäufe von über 100 Millionen Tonträgern. Recorded on the closing night of this year’s Montreux Festival on July 16, this concert features Deep Purple playing their classic hits with the accompaniment of a full symphony orchestra conducted by Stephen “BK” Bentley-Klein. The orchestral arrangements give an added depth and range to the familiar songs and the band, who are clearly enjoying the experience, deliver one of their finest performances. With a career stretching back into the late sixties and global album sales in excess of 100 million, Deep Purple need no introduction.
