Endlich eine gelungene Soul-Zusammenstellung, bei der man nicht wieder bereits 1.000 mal gekoppelte Hits mitkaufen muß, um die anderen interessanten Songs zu bekommen.

Diese Doppel-CD zeigt einen repräsentativen Querschnitt durch Musikstile des Soul und Funk der Siebziger, wo man noch mit viel Gefühl, vielen Bläsern und Wah-Wah-Effekten "Black Music" zelebriert hat. Mancher Track dieser CD ist zwar auch in den Hitparaden aufgetaucht, aber insgesamt haben diese Aufnahmen nie das Airplay und die Aufmerksamkeit bekommen wie andere Soulgrößen dieser Zeit.

Erwähnenswert ist, daß dieser Sampler viele Tracks in Longplay-Version enthält. So sind viele Stücke, die anderswo zum Singleformat verstümmelt werden, wie etwa "Melting Pot" oder "Do it 'til you are satisfied" in voller Länge zu hören. 39 Killer-Tracks mit einem Mördersound !
