While rehearsing for their 25 anniversary tour in 2002, the MEKONS went through their impressive back catalog. When they discovered theit 70s songs, they realized that these songs still meant something. As most of them were out of print or poorly recorded the Band decided to do a rerecording of those anthems. "Punk Rock" mixes these new recordings with live material from the MEKONS 23 anniversary tour. It shows the energy in their songs and the timeless messages by the MEKONS.
