Flamme interpretiert Carl Nielsen

Neben den bereits sieben erfolgreichen Veröffentlichungen unserer norddeutschen Orgelbarock-Edition hat Friedhelm Flamme jetzt für cpo außerhalb dieser Reihe - und auch auf SACD - sämtliche Orgelwerke von Carl Nielsen sowie 5 Orgelstücke von Rued Langgaard eingespielt. Von allen potentiellen Einflüssen dürfte der dänische Ableger der deutschen »Orgelbewegung« wohl der wichtigste gewesen sein – jenes bahnbrechende Streben nach den alten Prinzipien des Barock, das den Orgelbau in den frühen Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts prägte und dessen Ideale einen starken Widerhall bei Nielsen fanden, dessen antiromantische Ader sich gleichermaßen in seinen Beiträgen zur nationalen Liedtradition und in der Neubelebung der Symphonie bemerkbar machte. Zu seinen Orgelwerken gehört seit kurzem auch ein kleines Stück namens »Melodie«, das 2006 erstmals in der Gesamtausgabe der Klavier- und Orgelwerke Nielsens publiziert wurde und hier als Ersteinspielung vorliegt. Flamme interpretiert die kunst- und fantasievollen Orgelwerke auf der Mühleisen-Orgel der Stiftskirche zu Bad Gandersheim.

Flamme Interprets Carl Nielsen

Friedhelm Flamme, known for his seven successful releases in our Northern German Organ Baroque Edition, now takes a change of pace for cpo and on SACD with the complete organ works of Carl Nielsen and five organ pieces by Rued Langgaard. Of all the potential influences on Nielsen, the Danish offshoot of the German »organ movement« must have been the most important one; this pathbreaking return to old baroque principles left its imprint on organ design during the twentieth century, and its ideals met with great resonance in Nielsen, whose anti-romantic vein likewise made itself noticeable in his contributions to the national song tradition and to the revival of the symphony. A little piece entitled »Melody,« first published in the complete edition of his piano and organ works in 2006, now has its place in his organ oeuvre and is presented here as a recording premiere. Flamme interprets these organ compositions of high art and imagination on the Mühleisen organ in the Bad Gandersheim Monastery Church.
