Außerhalb unseres üblichen cpo-Repertoires möchten wir Ihnen auf einer weiteren Neuheit die fantastische Sängerin Aga Mikolaj vorstellen, die im Februar an der Bayerischen Staatsoper zusammen mit Jonas Kaufmann die Micaela in »Carmen« singen wird. In Polen geboren, begann ihre musikalische Laufbahn bei Antonina Kawecka in Poznan (Posen), und danach wurde sie sehr geprägt in ihrem künstlerischen Werdegang durch Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. "Ich habe Elisabeth Schwarzkopf", so die Sopranistin, "zum ersten Mal im Juni 2001 bei einem Meisterkurs getroffen. Aus Polen kommend war ich auf der Suche nach Hilfe, um in die Tiefen der Interpretation weiter vorzudringen und meine klanglichen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten zu verbessern. Bei den Mozart Figuren ging es uns darum, jede Nuance zu verstehen und die Interpretation stilistisch sowie klanglich in allen Facetten auszuleuchten. Ebenso oft habe ich mich mit Frau Schwarzkopf den Werken von Richard Strauss gewidmet. Immer und ausgiebig haben wir uns mit der gleichbedeutenden Wichtigkeit von Wort und Ton auseinandergesetzt. Vieles zur Tiefe der Interpretation der „vier letzten Lieder“ von Richard Strauss, sowie die philosophische Aussage dieser Lieder durfte ich erfahren." Aga Mikolaj Sings Strauss & Mozart

In addition to our regular cpo repertoire, we would like to present to you the ascinating singer Aga Mikolaj, who will sing the role of Micaela in Carmen with Jonas Kaufmann at the Bavarian State Opera in February. Born in Poland, she began her musical training with Antonina Kawecka in Poznan, but her later artistic development was marked very strongly by the mentorship she received from Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. As the soprano herself writes, »I first met Elisabeth Schwarzkopf in June 2001 during a master class. I had come from Poland in search of assistance that would enable me to penetrate further into the depths of interpretation and to improve my tonal impressive possibilities. In the case of the Mozart characters our aim was to understand every nuance and to probe the interpretation stylistically as well as tonally in all its facets. The two of us just as often dedicated ourselves to works by Richard Strauss. We always thoroughly occupied ourselves with the equal importance of word and tone. I was able to learn a great deal about the depth of interpretation of the Four Last Songs of Richard Strauss as well as about the philosophical message of these songs.« A musical journey with a fantastic voice!
