Der australische Komponist Brett Dean (*1961) ist seit vierzehn Jahren Bratscher bei den Berliner Philharmonikern. In seiner Heimat hat er schon zahlreiche Preise für seine Werke eingeheimst, die mittlerweile auch im Ausland mehr und mehr Aufmerksamkeit generieren. Auf CHANDOS stellt er sich mit drei Kammermusikkompositionen für Streichquartett und Streichquintett aus den Jahren 2003 bis 2013 vor.
