Die Kopf Kino Kantaten sind 24 Stücke von ein bis zweieinhalb Minuten Dauer. In der Tradition der Salon- bzw. Hausmusik, bewegen sie sich zwischen Klassik und Jazz. Sie spielen mit Bekanntem und Unbekanntem, mit dem Repertoire und Klang des Klaviers. Rhythmisch vielfältig, mit farbenreichen Klängen und Melodien sollen sie die HörerInnen auf eine Reise entführen in musikalische Szenen, die von Momenten des Alleinseins, Wartens oder Verweilens erzählen. Trotz der technischen Herausforderung steht die sangliche Leichtigkeit im Vordergrund. Judit Polgar hat jedes Stück sowohl auf einem Flügel als auch auf einem alten ?Upright-Piano? eingespielt. Die erste Version gibt den ausbalancierten Klang des Konzertflügels wieder, die zweite den Klang des privaten Wohnzimmers.

The Kopf Kino (mind movie) Cantatas are 24 pieces of one minute to two and a half minutes length. In the tradition of salon and family music they oscillate between classical music and jazz, playing with the familiar and the unfamiliar, and exploring the repertoire and sound of the piano. With colourful sounds and melodies presented in a variety of rhythms, the Cantatas take the listeners for a journey into musical scenes telling about moments of loneliness, waiting or pause. Despite the technical challenges a cantabile lightness prevails.

The composer has neither intended nor explicitly avoided references to other piano music. The Kopf Kino Cantatas bring the history of the piano to life. To get the mind movie going, each double CD comes with an associative photo by Nicolas Vermot Petit-Outhenin.
