Dies ist ein Schnappschuss aus der Zeit, als die Kunstmusik den Weg in die Öffentlichkeit fand, heraus aus der Abgeschiedenheit fürstlicher Hofhaltungen und der Kirchen. Nicht nur häusliches, sondern auch öffentliches Musizieren unter Freunden wurde im gebildeten Bürgertum üblich, und dies führte zu einem „Markt der Möglichkeiten“ auch für die Komponisten, hier demonstriert an Werken dreier Komponisten, die sich sehr nahe standen: Johann Sebastian Bach (der Vater), Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (der Sohn) und Georg Philipp Telemann (der Pate von Carl Philipp Emanuel). Wir tauchen ein in die strenge intellektuelle Welt des Vaters, den emotionalen „Empfindsamen Stil“ des Sohnes und schließlich in die Weltmusik des Georg Philipp Telemann, der es verstand, Volksmusik aus Polen mit französischen und italienischen Stilelementen zu verbinden.
