Otto Klemperer-Editionen zum 40. Todestag
Er wurde noch als Zeitgenosse von Brahms und Bruckner geboren. Tiefe Freundschaft verband ihn mit Gustav Mahler. Doch sein Wirken reichte bis in die Zeit moderner Stereophonie. Der Dirigent Otto Klemperer, eine der herausragendsten Musikerpersönlichkeiten des 20. Jahrhunderts, hat ein bedeutendes diskografisches Erbe hinterlassen. Am 6. Juli 2013 liegt sein Tod 40 Jahre zurück – ein Anlass, seine großen EMI-Einspielungen neu heraus

zubringen. Beethoven: Sinfonien & Ouvertüren
EMI-Produzent Walter Legge fand in den 50er Jahren in Klemperer einen Dirigenten für eine überzeitlich gültige Beethoven-Interpretation. In der Übergangszeit von Mono zu Stereo entstand die berühmte Gesamteinspielung der Sinfonien, ergänzt um einige Ouvertüren.
