Ahnungen der Freudigkeit
Nachdem Haydn und Mozart in Wien dem Klaviertrio bereits die volle Eigenständigkeit erkämpft hatten, eröffnete Beethoven dem Genre noch einmal eine ganz neue Dimension. »Ahnungen der Freudigkeit« hatten E. T. A. Hoffmann unter dem Eindruck von Beethovens Instrumentalmusik ergriffen, die wie »aus einem unbekannten Lande herübergekommen«.
