Das vielfach ausgezeichnete Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra ist für seine Konzerte und Aufnahmen auf dem Gebiet der historischen Aufnahmepraxis weltweit bekannt. Auf dem 2012 von Tafelmusik gegründeten Label erscheinen regelmäßig neue und wiederveröffentlichte Aufnahmen. Die vorliegende Einspielung von Händels „Messias“ ist die erste Live-Konzert-Aufnahme auf dem neuen Label Tafelmusik Media. Der Dirigent Ivars Taurins leitet den Tafelmusik Chamber Choir seit dessen Gründung im Jahre 1982. Darüber hinaus war er 23 Jahre lang als Bratschist im Tafelmusik Orchestra tätig.
